A thoughtful facelift on the bones of an existing motel footprint saw Motel Molly rise like a pastel-toned phoenix on the southern swing of Mollymook Beach. The renovation has delivered a quirky yet considered modern interpretation of the coastal Australian getaway.

A collaboration between Sydney-based Knox Developments and award-winning interior design and architecture practice Richards Stanisich, Motel Molly enjoys direct beach access and retains an air of laid-back seaside nostalgia.

The former Surfbeach Motel, was taken over by Knox Developments last year. The company tasked interior design and architecture practice Richards Stanisich with the multimillion-dollar transformation.

A development application has been lodged by Knox Developments for a $30million, 12-storey building with 78 co-living apartments at 570 Princess Highway, Rockdale.
